One morning, I was woken to the sound of water being sprayed. I had no idea what that noise was, so I went and got on my robe and looked around. I even went under the house to see if I could tell what was going on. When I shined my flash light around, I saw a pipe had busted. I raced inside and turned the water off from the breaker system and then called around for an emergency plumber in New Jersey who could come straight away. I got lucky with the first call I had.
The plumber service I found was new but willing to take on the task at hand. Being in New Jersey, it is a little difficult to find someone who can do something speedy. However, within 30 minutes of calling them they showed up and asked about what the problem was. I told them that I had heard what sounded like a faucet running and that I checked and it seemed like one of the pipes had busted. They wanted to know if I had the pipes replaced or anything like that recently. Which, I hadn’t and I wasn’t sure when the last time was when they were change. I had just moved into the house a few years before. They both agreed that their first instinct was an older pipe had just busted. They ended up being right.
After crawling under the home and inspecting, one of the men came out and said “It’s an older pipe. We can replace that and will replace any other older pipes that we find while we are under there if you want.” I asked how much it would cost to do that, since I don’t have a lot of money. He said he’d just charge the cost of pipes and that’s it so it might be $500 in all. I thought that was an insanely good deal so I told them do whatever they wanted. They changed more than a few pipes out for new ones and treated me right the whole time. I have no problem with calling them and they have done nothing but been speedy when coming out to help me!
